Wise Technologies LLC ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Bible in Context application available at https://bibleincontext.app and as a mobile application on Android (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

1. Information We Collect

1a. Information You Provide

• Account registration information (email address, password)
• App preferences such as saved verses, favorite verses, and selected categories

1b. Information from Google Sign-In

If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive the following data from your Google account:

• Name — used as your display name within the app
• Email address — used to identify your account
• Profile photo URL — used to display your avatar within the app

We access this data solely through the standard Google OAuth 2.0 sign-in flow using the email, profile, and openid scopes. We do not request access to any other Google services, files, or data.

1c. Automatically Collected Information

• Device type and operating system version
• App usage data (pages viewed, features used)
• Advertising identifiers (for ad personalization, where applicable)

2. How We Use Your Information

• Provide the Service: authenticate your account, sync your preferences (favorites, categories) across devices, and deliver personalized content
• Improve the Service: analyze usage patterns to fix bugs and develop new features
• Display advertisements: show relevant ads via Google AdMob
• Communicate: send important service updates when necessary
• Comply with law: meet applicable legal obligations

3. How We Use Google User Data

We use Google user data (name, email, profile photo) exclusively for:

• Authenticating you and creating/managing your account
• Displaying your name and profile photo within the app interface

We do not:

• Sell, rent, or trade your Google user data to third parties
• Use your Google user data for advertising purposes
• Share your Google user data with third parties except as required to operate the Service (see Section 5 below)
• Allow humans to read your Google user data unless you give explicit consent, it is necessary for security purposes, or it is required by law

4. How We Store Google User Data

Your Google account information (name, email, profile photo URL) is stored securely in our backend database. Data is encrypted in transit using TLS/SSL. Passwords (for email/password accounts) are hashed using industry-standard bcrypt and are never stored in plain text. Authentication tokens are managed securely by our authentication provider.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the app:

• Supabase — authentication and database storage
• Google OAuth 2.0 — sign-in with Google
• Google AdMob — in-app advertising

Each of these services has its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review them.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us (see Section 12).

7. Data Security

We implement commercially reasonable security measures including:

• TLS/SSL encryption for all data in transit
• Bcrypt password hashing
• Secure token management via our authentication provider
• Row-level security policies on database tables

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Restrict or object to processing
• Withdraw consent at any time

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes through the Service or via email. The "Effective Date" at the top will be updated accordingly.
